About Me
I am a psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist based in London, working with adults online and in-person.
I came to psychotherapy after spending 20 years working internationally in the performing arts, touring with orchestras and dance companies across the world. That experience taught me a lot about working with people under pressure, navigating cultural differences, and the challenges of being a performer or someone working in that field.
I met a great variety of people doing all kinds of different jobs — driving trucks, setting stages, ambassadors, volunteers from across the world. I greatly enjoyed meeting all these people and hearing their stories, and this led me to retrain as a psychotherapist to continue this work: meeting people, hearing their stories and helping them better understand themselves and their relationships.
I trained at Birkbeck, University of London, where I completed an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy. My therapeutic approach is informed by object relations and independent schools of psychoanalytic thinking.
I gained experience working in a university counselling service, supporting students with trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD and complex emotional needs, as well as at Albany Trust, a charity focused on sexuality and relationships, where I worked with LGBTQIA+ clients exploring questions of gender, sexuality and intimacy. I have also worked with older adults experiencing bereavement (Age UK) and dementia (NHS).
I am particularly interested in working with people navigating questions of difference, identity and belonging — whether that's cultural, sexual, or in relation to family expectations.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I abide by their ethical framework.
